A Present-Day Reaching for a World Medical Dictatorship

What the Issue is:

The World Health Organization (WHO), an agency of the United Nations run by unelected officials,, is developing a new treaty, the (International Treaty on Pandemic Prevention, Preparedness and Response). If adopted, this legislation could establish the World Health Organization as not only a reference, but a worldwide authority, to command the 'health response' of the nations, in case of a pandemic. Since (as we saw in the COVID-19 pandemic) 'health response' can touch every nearly area of life and freedom, and since the WHO is the same organization which identifies pandemics, they could essentially declare pandemic for any new pathogen or variant, significantly dangerous or not, and institute a kind of worldwide medical dictatorship. To this point it's worth noting that treaties override domestic laws: even national constitutions.

This treaty must be stopped: we must not allow the world to be turned into a centrally-controlled dictatorship whenever that same unelected governing body decides to declare a 'pandemic' at their sole definition and discretion. For one thing, the party which delcares pandemics should never be the party which is empowered by that declaration.

What We Can Do About It:

1. Directly contact your national elected representatives, to at least oppose the signing of the treaty, and preferably get your nation out of the WHO (as president Trump did but presedent Biden put America back in). Remember: you don't need a foreign authority to tell your nation what to do, and your nation has its own health experts. For your nation to agree to obey any foreign authority for any reason, even a medical one, is to give up your sovereignty.

2. Start a petition (such as at Change.org) or sign an existing one:
